So today's Navajo Word of the Day is "Yá'át'ééh náshdleeł," which means "I am getting better." I thank all of you guys who posted "Get Well" statements on the last video... unexpected but very nice & very much appreciated! :-) For some of the more advanced speakers who want a more advanced term, you can say "'Áh nísts'ííd," which means, "I'm okay/alright!" If you want to ask someone if they are okay, you can ask " 'Áásh ńts'ííd?" "Are you okay?" Since most people are only familiar with "yá'át'ééh" in terms of "hello," I figured this would be the right time of introducing it's other uses, such as: Díí naaltsoos shił yá'át'ééh: I like this book Éí movie shił yá'át'ééh: I like that movie Éí movie nił yá'át'ééh ya': You like that movie, right? To say something in general is good, like work, a book, movie, a person's day, you can merely say " 'Áh yá'át'ééh," which means, "It's good." The root word of the previous word, " 'Áh nísts'ííd," for "I'm alright," is the word " Áh ts'ííd," which means, "It's okay." You can say that about a book, movie, a person's day, if it's just "alright." Again, thank you everyone for wishing me well & a speedy recovery! That was very nice & thoughtful! I appreciate it bunches! I hope you guys enjoy this video! :-) FYI... sorry about the hanging subtitle @ the end... I was too lazy to change it & reload an "updated" version! lol
