A fair 19th-century copy of Barreda's Chinantec translation, published in 1730, of Geronimo de Ripalda's Doctrina christiana, with additional material on Catholic doctrine and the administration of the sacraments. Includes the Lord's prayer, Ave Maria, Apostles' Creed, and ten commandments in Chinantec, followed by catechisms and instructions for the sacraments written in parallel columns of Chinantec and Spanish. The title page, licenses and prefatory material in Spanish from the published edition are copied at the beginning of the volume.
