Published in Columbia University's journal Asian Highlands Perspectives, this work explains the origin of the ritual of calling back to the lost soul, a ritual integral in Namuzi culture. This paper explains the ritual from why it is done, what the ritual is supposed to heal, the words of the ritual as well as their translation into English.
