Without the Defaka language, their cultural identity vanishes, as they have already assimilated with the Nkoroo people, including adopting their language. Economic pressures, generational divides, forced assimilation, and limited institutional support have put this language at risk. Preserving endangered languages, such as Defaka, promotes global equity by valuing diverse cultures, supports sustainability by safeguarding indigenous knowledge, and enhances cultural understanding through the celebration of linguistic diversity.
