An inspirational story about linguist and Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Deborah Sanchez who is on a journey to reclaim, revitalize, and heal Šmuwič, a language from the Chumashan language family and spoked across the region that is now know as San Luis Obispo to Malibu, whose last L1 (first-language) speaker, Mary Yee, passed in 1965.
