La population de l'oasis habite dans sept villages (kçour); dont six se trouvent à Haut-Figuig et un, le plus grande; à Bas-Figuig [...] Dans tout les kçour le berbère est parlé. Dans plusieurs villages du Haut-Figuig (surtout Labidate, Loudaghir, Hammam Foukani et Hammam Tahtani) une partie de la population parle l'arabe dialectal comme langue maternelle... Dans les autres villages, le berbère est pleinement vivant."
