Attenbrow (2002) says that the term "Eora" is now used to refer to the original inhabitants of the area between Port Jackson and Botany Bay, or sometimes the entire Sydney region, and the language of this area was a (coastal) dialect of Darug.
Sydney Peninsula (north of Botany Bay, south of Port Jackson, west to Parramatta), as well as the country to the north of Port Jackson, possibly as far as Broken Bay (Attenbrow 2002:34).
