"Satawalese, a Chuukic language spoken by approximately 700 people in Micronesia, is a member of a dialect continuum of approximately 17 related speech varieties stretching 2100 kilometers across the Western Pacific."

LOCATION DESCRIPTION: "As of 2005, approximately 600 Satawalese speakers lived on the Island of Satawal in Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The island is located in the Western Pacific at 7.4 degrees North latitude and 147.2 degrees East longitude."
