LANGUAGE CONTEXT COMMENTS: "Kpan have been known by the names Eregba, Apa, Kpwãtẽ, and Hwãye... The names used by Kpan themselves as well as by other tribes are, Kpànzon, Kpànten, Ikpàn and Akpanzhi. Nyonyo is a nickname given by other tribes, and the Jukun call the Kpan /Abákan/. "

LOCATION DESCRIPTION: "The Kpan are found scattered all over Wukari division and at least two settlements are said to be in Katsina Ala division."

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: "Their homeland, from which they scattered... can be located at the extreme south-western corner of the North-Eastern State, separated from the rest of the state by the River Donga."
