This paper contains the outcome of the attempts to clarify the linguistic situation in the southern and southwestern part of Bauchi State, Nigeria as of the 1970s when the study was conducted. Polci is one of the languages included in this study and many other papers on Polci and South Bauchi languages reference this one.
