"Used until 1960s by Ndyuka, Trio and Wayana peoples for trading. Increasing travel to the coast cut back on that trade, and also gave some opportunity to use Sranan [srn] in contact with the Ndyuka. Few Ndyuka men, even older ones, now know it. Used rarely now."
