"[The Waata] live in scattered territorial groups along the Tana and Galana rivers and in the Taru Desert in eastern Kenya, on the Kenyan coast, in Isiolo and Marsabit districts in northern Kenya, and in parts of souther, central and western Ethiopia, as well as on the shores of Lake Tana.
