North West Malakula

English
North West Malakula is a serious threat to the survival of the language.
This is a relocated language. It was traditionally spoken in North West Malakula between the Lowisinwei river valley and the east bank of the Brenwei river. Traditionally, Maragus speakers lived inland. They fled warfare in the 1920's and settled in modern day Tautu, on the east coast of the Island. Tautu is located just south of Norsup, on a peninsula, north of Lakatoro.
