This text is from Ms. Thul Debi Ghale, who is a lodge-owner from Thancowk, Manang. Thancowk is a kind of 'parent' village to Temang, where this discourse was collected. Temang is newly settled. It is about one hour away by foot, and most (adult) inhabitants are originally from Thancowk or other Gurung villages. The speaker's native language is Gurung (Tamu). This text was recorded on June 18, 2012 in Temang village (in one of the lodge rooms). This was recorded with a Canon FS-100 camcorder (non-high-def) and an Audio-Technia AT 8022 omnidirectional microphone. The other speakers are Mr. Ritar Lhakpa Lama and Dr. Kristine Hildebrandt--they provided response prompts.
