This text is from Mr. Prem Bahadur Tamu (Gurung), who is a native resident of Gyerang village, Manang. His native language is Gurung (Tamu). Mr. Tamu provided a historical monologue about the settling of Gyering, and how a lack of water has played a major role in both its original founding and in its ongoing problems. This text also provides a bit of information about how travelers use the roads in Manang to access other districts of Nepal such as Gorkha and Lamjung. This text was recorded on June 10, 2012 in Gyerang village (outside of the primary school). This was recorded with a Canon FS-100 camcorder (non-high-def) and an Audio-Technia AT 8022 omnidirectional microphone. The other speaker is Mr. Ritar Lhakpa Lama, who provided response prompts.
