The population of Anuta has climbed considerably in the last few decades. Whether or not this accompanied by an expansion of the languages is unknown. The island is very small, .15 square miles, and cannot support continued population growth.
There is little data on the linguistic situation on Anuta. It is assumed that Anutian is used by the community, but word is needed.

Anuta is a very small island, just a half mile at its widest point and .15 square miles in area. It is just over 80 miles northeast from Tikopia, the nearest inhabited island. Tikopia lies just over 630 miles to the southeast of the national capital, Honiara.
