Alle drei Orte liegen im Qalamun-Gebirge, etwa 60 km nordlich von Damaskus. Ich mietete in Malula eine Wohnung, da sich von Malula aus die beiden anderen Orte, Baxa und Gubbadin, in jeweils einer Stunde zu Fuss erreichen lassen.
