Recent articles by Voegelin and Voegelin (1965) and Kachru (1969) presented erroneous listings of the so-called "Dardic" languages. These listings were based on Grierson's now outdated classification, and they did not reflect the clear division between the Niiristani (Kafir) languages, which constitute a separate branch of Indo-Iranian, and the other Dardic languages, which are Indo-Aryan, as stated by Morgenstierne (1961).
