In 1982, fifty possible speakers were reported. Now there would be only very few left.
They suffered from a severe earth- quake and tidal wave, and were decimated by disease. The language is moribund and almost extinct.
No literacy in it.
Spoken on the west coast of Elpaputih Bay in southwest Seram Island.
