The present generation of adults still uses Teiwa at home and when talking to other Teiwa speaking adults, but they typically switch to Malay/Indonesian when addressing children. Children playing outside usually speak Malay/Indonesian amongst each other, Teiwa words and expressions are used occasionally.

Spoken on Pantar island, part of the Alor archipelago. Specifically, the language is spoken in north Pantor around Kabir.
