"Western Juxtlahuaca Mixtec" [jmx] is spoken in Santa Cruz Yucucani and San José Yoxocaño municipalities in Guerrero, and in San Martín Peras and Río Frijol in Oaxaca; "Ayutla Mixtec" [miy] is spoken in about 30 mountain towns in Guerrero, and in Ayutla; "Juxtlahuaca Mixtec" [vmc] is spoken in the towns of San Sebastián Tecomaxtlahuaca, San Miguel Tlacotepec, Santos Reyes Tepejillo, Santa María Tindú, San Martin Duraznos, and Santa María Yucunicoco in Oaxaca, and in San Quintín valley, Baja California.
