"Currently, Isinay is not only considered as “threatened” (Lewis et al. 2015), but as “severely endangered” (Cruz 2010) with only a small percentage of the current population still speaking the language. These are concentrated in the three towns of Dupax del Sur (8,988 individuals), Bambang (2,098 individuals), and Aritao (1,442 individuals), data from the 2012 Ancestral Domain Areas Census Report."

"In Dupax, for example, it has been reported that most of the young generation Isinay no longer speak the language and often utter sentences in Tagalog or Ilokano, the dominant languages in Dupax del Sur and Bambang respectively, interspersed only with a few Isinay words (Castro 2013: 2, Cruz 2010: 2). In Aritao, not more than 100 mostly old Isinay speak the language (Cruz 2010: 2), mostly living in barangays Payao and Uruddu (Gatan 1997: 110)."

"Language and culture revitalization is being carried out by different Isinay associations in Nueva Vizcaya as a primary means to avert disen-franchisement of the Isinay. Some of these organizations are the Uhmun si Tribun Isinai(Aritao), Bona si Isinai (Dupax del Sur), and the Bambang Isinay Tribe. These form the Isinai Federation of Nueva Vizcaya formed in late 2008 (Cruz 2010: 3–4). Recently, the Isinay Advocates, a group of volunteers formed in 2012 also helps in the revitalization of language and culture of the Isinay."
