"There are probably 2000 ethnic Dyarim and of those only a limited number (? 100) speak the language well."
"The chief himself does not have a fluent command of Dyàrìm Tə́ and none of the young people present at the meeting could speak it. Nonetheless, the older informants have remained fluent and perhaps the language is still commonly spoken in isolated hamlets. But there is no doubt that it is very endangered.”
