The article provided analyzes the contrast of learning foreign language proficiency by means of "field dependency" and "field independence". What these concepts refer to essentially is the ability to learn a language more readily when enveloped by the culture (field dependency) or by other means independent of this method (field independent). The author of the article refers to Bangandu as a field dependent language due to the interdependence the Bangandu community observes. The use of the Bangandu language in this article is to exemplify the application of field dependent language learning.
