In our third #LanguageChampions Live session, filmed on April 2, 2021, Yulha Lhawa talks with us about her Khroskyabs language and culture, her work in language documentation and revitalization, the challenges facing small languages, and how her journey as a linguist took her from a small village on the Tibetan Plateau to the University of Oregon (and now to Apple as a computational linguist).

Thanks to Yulha for this wonderful conversation, despite our technical issues at the beginning! Be sure to check out her book of Khroskyabs oral traditions, “Warming Your Hands with Moonlight”.
