Radio Ucamara fue fundada el año 1992 como parte del Instituto de Promoción Social Amazónica (IPSA), del Vicariato Apostólico de Iquitos. La radio llega a oyentes de más de 40 comunidades indígenas y ribereñas, además de la ciudad de Nauta. Su misión es rescatar la cultura y el idioma kukama y socializar información para reforzar la identidad indígena y fortalecer a las comunidades que enfrentan cambios y procesos fuertes y bruscos.

 

Radio Ucamara was founded in 1992 as part of the Amazonian Social Promotion Institute (IPSA), of the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos. The station reaches listeners in more than 40 indigenous and riverine communities, as well as the city of Nauta. Its mission is to preserve the Kukama culture and language and to disseminate information to strengthen indigenous identity and empower communities facing significant and abrupt changes.
