Spanish-language “Prologo” (p. I-VIII), with ethnographic, geographical, and linguistic data relating to varieties of Mixtec and its speakers, is followed by grammar in Spanish with Mixtec examples. Chapters 25-27 list approximately 250 terms in Spanish alphabetical order with Mixtec equivalents, grouped as follows: “De los nombres y verbos reverenciales de que usan los naturales con los grandes señores o haziendo relacion dellos” (p. 74-81); “De todas las partes del cuerpo humano” (p. 81-86); and “De los nombres de parentesco, de affinidad y consanguinidad” (p. 86-88). Chapter 28, “De los nombres de los Pueblos de que mas noticia se tiene en esta Nueva España, bueltos en lengua Mexteca, para necessidades que se offrescan cada dia de saberlos”, contains 6 double-column lists under the headings Mixteca, Mixteca baxa, Costa, Pueblos de la parte de Teutila, Çapoteca, and Mexicano (p. 88-93). Reprint of Mixtec grammar originally published Mexico, 1593, and edited by the Comte de Charencey.
