Dr. Luca Ciucci is research fellow at Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. In september 2007, Luca Ciucci began his research on the Zamucoan languages (Ayoreo, Chamacoco and Ancient Zamuco) with a special focus on morphology and on genetic relationships between the two languages. His doctoral dissertation, defended in April 2013, concerned the study of the inflectional morphology in the Zamucoan languages. He is now writing a descriptive grammar of Chamacoco (Ebitoso), an endangered and undescribed language spoken in Paraguay by approximately 1600 speakers. He aims to preserve a part of cultural heritage of humanity through language documentation.
