An article I published in Yemen's monthly English-language magazine, Yemen Today, in their May 2010 issue. It explores the endangered oral language Soqotri, spoken in the Yemeni archipelago of Socotra, fears for its extinction with the predominance of Arabic in everyday usage and in school education, and the few individual efforts by Socotris to develop a script for it, record it and preserve it, with the help of an expert.
