Discusses how language maintenance will only be possible if numerous citizens contribute. However, they must come with a very influential language like English as well as conscious efforts by the language group itself. It also examines the maintenance of the Efik (which is also in the same domain as Kiong) language being a minority language in Nigeria, looking at the fact that the language is endangered. It stresses how Efik, and Kiong are practically nonexistent.
