This text is from Diman Bahadur Tamu (Gurung), who is a teacher from Otargaun, Manang. His native language is Gurung (Tamu). This text was recorded on July 26, 2012 in Otar village (outside of the school). He is a teacher at the local primary school, and in this brief text he provides a basic description of the layout of Otar village. Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal is in the video, holding the microphone, and Dr. Shunfu Hu is recording with a Sony HDR XR550V solid-state camcorder with Audio-Technia AT 8022 omnidirectional microphone. The sound fades out for a moment in the middle of the video, because Mr. Tamu steps away from the microphone as we re-position ourselves.
