An 1869 copy of a portion of a collection of Catholic texts and prayers from the 17th or 18th century, translated into the Chiapanec language. Contents include a catechism, several acrostics and anagrams, prayers, a sermon, and a number of pen-and-ink illustrations, including a simple family tree for Jesus (p. 44), a complicated cross with a serpent at its base (p. 55); a woman praying amidst grasses or flames (p. 62); and a skeleton (p. 63).
